In which "Wolf in Night" goes into production (1/05 release)
and TKH goes back to playing the blues...

Yes!  It's finished.  Final editing changes to the latest Wolfwalker novel (Wolf in Night) were done last month (June).  Final-final fixes (my own can't-let-it-go changes) were done a week after that.  Right now, in the last week of July, I'm finishing up the copy edit.  After that, it's into production, then the galley edit, and into print.

One interesting note:  I've never been offered the copy-edit before to check.  I've always had to do this set of checks and corrections at the galley stage.  This is my tenth book, and it's the first time I've been able to go over the copy editor's changes and say yay or nay to what they're doing before the book goes to production.  It's also a chance to clarify those little points that kept sticking in my head after I sent the book off.  All of which means that, for the first time, the galley check really will be a galley check:  simple and straightforward.

Wolf in Night is currently scheduled for release in February, 2005.

And yes, I've already started on the second book in this new Wolfwalker series, as well as a new fantasy novel.  I haven't really had any adventures myself lately, but I'm working on that, too.  I'm probably going to give up on the mountains right now and plan for the bad-weather season as soon as it starts up again, but I will hit Elk Mountain this weekend just for fun.

In the meantime, I'm interviewing various, fascinating people (anthropologists, forensic pathologists, locksmiths), playing the blues on my guitar, building a few costumes, and painting in acrylics right now since it comes off the wood floors more easily than the oils ever did.
